On what would have been Jackie Gleason’s 92nd birthday, the family and estate of the legendary comedian launched JackieGleason.com. Those who only knew him as Ralph Kramden on The Honeymooners will be surprised to experience classic characters from The Jackie Gleason Show, including Joe the Bartender, Reggie Van Gleason III, Rudy the Repairman, Rum Dum, Fenwick Babbitt, and my personal favorite The Poor Soul. While still in its infancy, designers said the site will ultimately serve as an online museum for Gleason fans. At the moment, visitors can peruse articles, video clips, and participate in a soon to be unveiled discussion forum.
“This has been in the works for quite some time and we are simply thrilled to launch what we consider to be a fitting online tribute to a legendary visionary in the entertainment industry,” Geraldine Chutuk, daughter of Gleason and managing director of Jackie Gleason Enterprises said. “Finally, my father is going to have an official home where fans from years past can relive all the great moments, and new fans can discover his magic for the first time.”
