ABC has also announced its prime-time schedule for the fall. Not much in the way of new content: Scrubs moves over from NBC for its final 18-episode season; Mike Judge gives us yet another dysfunctional animated comedy in The Goode Family; British scifi import Life on Mars will keep Lost’s schedule spot warm until January; and Ashton Kutcher cranks out two new reality series — one revolves around a beauty pageant competition, partnering with Tyra Banks, and the other is an in-your-face “Publishers Clearing House” vehicle in which a mobile production team drives to unsuspecting families’ homes to test their on-the-spot knowledge of each other for cash and prizes. Other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual. Casualties of last season include: Men in Trees, Miss Guided, October Road, Women’s Murder Club, Big Shots, Cavemen (did anyone ever watch that show?), and Cashmere Mafia.

I have waited all summer for October road , I love that show . I think it needs a chance to make it !!!!!!! Hate all of the reality shows, loved October road, PLEASE BRING IT BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
31. August 2008 at 5:15 pm
ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!!!! I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE ON THIS SITE, SICKENED THAT YOU TOOK OFF 3 GREAT SHOWS. WHO WANTS MORE REALITY B.S.???? ENOUGH ALREADY !!!!!
31. August 2008 at 7:09 pm
What are you people thinking by taking away all of your “great show’ like october road, cashmere mafia, Big shots and women`s murder club. I guess you people don`t have a clue what your viewers like to watch. I guess you won`t be getting an audience this time around.better luck next season. I`m still miffed at why you would drop what about Brian. Anyway, I can see now why everyone will be switching networks `cause yours stinks!
31. August 2008 at 8:12 pm
why would you cancel cashmere mafia…us that show saved the day! bring it back or else!!!
31. August 2008 at 8:31 pm
I truly fell that ABC is making a big mistake with the cancelation of two great shows, in October road, and Men in Trees.
31. August 2008 at 11:06 pm
ABC always cancels the good shows. I’m really surprised Grey’s Anatomy is still on. That is the only show I will watch on ABC…it will probably be cancelled next.
1. September 2008 at 5:42 am
I can’t believe I waited all summer for more of October Road and you cancelled it. The good shows are being taken off and stupid shows are going to replace them. We the people who watch these things should have a say.Guess I won’t be watching much tv this season.
1. September 2008 at 4:53 pm
All of my favorite shows are gone. October road & Men in trees were well done.I always looked foward to watching them. I knew they would never last. How do you think shows can last when you constantly change the day & time? Not everyone likes reality TV. I think ABC got it wrong this time. I guess it will be cable tv. I think your line up stinks.
2. September 2008 at 9:47 am
I just wanted to say that I am almost crushed. ABC was the only station that I watch programs on besides fox. Now all of my shows (Men in Trees, Oct Road, and Cashmere Mafia) are cancelled. this really stinks. I know that your ratings must not have been that low. Did ABC even take into account those of us who own a DVR? I have to watch my shows after my kids go to bed. I would implore the station to add back these shows. I really want to know what happened. I agree that there isn’t much out there for those of us in our late 20s – mid-30s. I am not stuck in reality hell, with no smart dramas or comedys that I love. Someone at ABC please save me.
3. September 2008 at 9:46 am
The last time I watched The The Bachelor was when Trista and Ryan were on!!! I can’t understand why ABC would get rid of “Big Shots”!! What were yall thinkin’. You had Dylan as part of the cast and everyone knows how well ABC did when it the “The Practice” on every week. Hello that is where you got the spin off of “Boston Legal” remember. ABC you really need to pull your heads our of your butt and realize it is time to say good-bye to soo much reality TV. CBS has reality too but look at all of the other Drama/Comedy it has. Yours can only be counted on one hand how many drama series shows you have. It is time to wake up and smell the coffee.
3. September 2008 at 11:56 am
Cashmere Mafia was so well done! I liked the characters, the plot and the scripts! I believed in this show. Lipstick jungle is like the version for unintelligent version of this show. If C.M. was given another season it would have grown into a huge must watch for an entire female demographic at any age!
4. September 2008 at 11:14 am
I won’t be watching ABC this year, everything is ridiculous, I really want to see shows about fictional characters. REALITY BITES!
5. September 2008 at 5:44 am
I was wondering why I was seeing Lucy Lu on upcoming episodes of Dirty Sexy Money…YOU SCOUNDRELS. With all the BS on TV why cancel shows with meaning. I mean where else can I see haute couture fashions on any show? Lucy Lu’s, along with the supporting cast’s, wardrobe was ABSOLUTELY SICKENING. the bachelor is for lonely broads who sit on thier couch all day wishing for that type of LUST. Glad you had the sense to keep Eli, Boston Legal, B&S, Private Practice, Samantha & Dancin. Guess i’ll tune in to NBC and hopefully the girls from Lipstick Jungle can make up for what you felt needed to be taken away from us CF loyal watchers.

I was wondering why I was seeing Lucy Lu on upcoming episodes of Dirty Sexy Money…YOU SCOUNDRELS. With all the BS on TV why cancel shows SOOO much meaning and substance. I just dont’ think it was given a fair chance to develop. I mean where else can I see haute couture fashions on any show? Lucy Lu’s, along with the supporting cast’s, wardrobe was ABSOLUTELY SICKENING and the story line was gettin better. the bachelor is for lonely broads who sit on thier couch all day wishing for that type of LUST. Glad you had the sense to keep Eli, Boston Legal, B&S, Private Practice, Samantha & Dancin. Guess i’ll tune in to NBC and hopefully the girls from Lipstick Jungle can make up for what you felt needed to be taken away from us CM loyal watchers.

Men in Trees was my favorite show. How can you continue playing that pathetic Dancing with the Stars but cancel shows that are intelligent and have *actual* writers and actors. It’s really sad to underestimate what the public wants to see and still shovel garbage in our homes.
5. September 2008 at 11:59 pm
ABC you suck. You use to have the best fall lineup ever, from the 70’s like Mork and Mindy, to Happy Days, Lavern & Shirley. Then came the 80’s with show’s like Who’s the Boss, Growing Pains, Moonlighting the list goes on. Then the 90’s lineup, I think probably the best with thing like TGIF on Friday night’s. What happened ABC, I think you need to fire the person in charge of programming.
11. September 2008 at 12:04 pm
Bring back Women’s Murder Club! It was smart and engaging with great actors. Give it another shot! You had one of the best writers (JP) on the planet helping you ABC! Come on!!
11. September 2008 at 8:16 pm
WHY DID YOU CANCLE WOMEN’S MUDER CLUB IT WAS ONE OF YOUR BETTER SHOWS, FOR MORE OF YOUR JUNK SHOWS.
12. September 2008 at 1:50 pm
Why did you cancel Men In Trees? I’m thru with ABC. That was my favorite show and I haven’t had one in a LONG time. I’m sick of the Bachelor and reality shows! Give us back our Men In Trees!!!!!!!!
14. September 2008 at 9:33 am
ABC finally was catching up with NBC with great shows, they should have moved October Road to a better time slot and it would have caught more viewers. My husband actually liked October rd and he doesn’t watch anything but sports and history channel. ABC you made some grave errors in judgement!
14. September 2008 at 8:09 pm
ABC, I must say that I really agree with most posts here, and am high disappointed that you’ve cancelled Men in Trees and October Road. On the plus side, I’m glad to see that you saved Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters. As for replacing that tv time, guess I’ll be spending less time watching tv, or more time watching your competitors.
16. September 2008 at 7:31 am
October Road rocked! There is so nothing for us 20-30 somethings…guess who spends the money on these things?? ABC marketing sucks…Men in Trees and October Road…I think I will even stop watching Housewives bc it’s become ridiculous! October Road was a great show – you people need to re-think your ’strategies’. Brilliant.
16. September 2008 at 4:43 pm
I just started watching October Road on DVD…and LOVE it. Came online to find out when it’s televised…BIG disappointment. I’m with the others, I don’t watch reality TV. October Road definitely had thirtysomething potential.
18. September 2008 at 8:57 am
I am very disappointed that you have dropped October Road and Cashmere Mafia! Looks like I will be watching the other networks from now on.
20. September 2008 at 1:10 pm
Men in trees was one of the best shows on TV. (Boston Legal being the best). I cannot imagine you dropping this show and keeping that idiot show the bachelor.
21. September 2008 at 3:03 pm
please rethink men in trees I loved that show.
22. September 2008 at 7:46 pm
I loved October Road…I watched it over and over on computer!! I hate Reality TV. The characters in October Road were believable and the ending was the best ever. Please read the comments here and listen to the fans of the show!! Bring it back. I think a different time slot would help people fall in love with Knights Ridge!!
23. September 2008 at 5:33 am
I loved October Road. This really is sad. I waited all summer to start watching it again and like a lot of people have said, ABC has nothing I want to watch this season.
23. September 2008 at 11:04 am
I agree…. enough reality tv. As long as we are asking where programs went where is Traveler. It was on briefly during last summer and then poof it was gone. I was really hoping to see it in the fall line up last year.
23. September 2008 at 2:09 pm
i’ve waited on the return of shows like men in trees all this time and you let me down as usual. I mean haven’t we seen enough of STARS shakin’ it across our TV stars. Come on put the halfway decents shows back on the air. YOU’RE SUPPOSE TO PLAY SHOWS THAT AMERICA WANTS TO SEE NOT WHAT YOU AND YOUR BUDDIES THINK ARE SUCH GREAT SHOWS. Make us proud ABC.
24. September 2008 at 6:49 pm
October Road was the last show on ABC that I was interested in watching. If I wanted to see the crap on that shows up on reality TV I’d go back to high school.
1. October 2008 at 6:19 am
Wow! Are ABC’s upcong fall 2008 shows predictable or WHAT?! Predicably AWFUL, that is. The only one I can see lasting, perhaps, is that Private Practice. ABC’s obviously banking on the fact that people seem to be suckers for shows about georgeous lawyers.
10. October 2008 at 2:34 pm
Women’s murder club was a great show.
Stopped watching the view a long time ago because of
the hate talk by Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
I haven’t figured out what kind of audience ABC is appealing to but, it certainly isn’t me. Only shows I
miss Oprah, & American Videos. I’m joining the boycott based on this {see post} and the unwillingness
of ABC to deal with Elisabeth.

i’m fed up with ABC… you canceled quality shows and continue to do so
Life on Mars, Pushing Daises, Eli Stone, Men in Tress, October Road… BOSTON LEGAL. i’m glad
Boston Legal laughed at you… i will switch to TNT, USA, SciFi… they support their shows and i hope they
pick some of these up
