CBS Fall 2008 Lineup

The television upfronts continue; this time it’s CBS’ turn at the podium for a look at their fall lineup, designed specifically to attract more female viewers. Okay… A number of casualties, most notably the fan favorite Moonlight, make room for new one-hour series The Ex-List (a tarot card reading lets a woman know she needs to marry by year’s end to a man already in her life), The Mentalist, Jerry Bruckheimer’s Eleventh Hour, and sitcoms Worst Week and Jay Mohr’s Project Gary. The big news is that the network has held onto Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ New Adventures of Old Christine, which moves from Monday to Wednesday to front a one-hour comedy block preceding Criminal Minds and CSI: New York. Seriously?! Nothing like a comedy appetizer leading into two hours of crime drama. Meanwhile, they are also holding onto Rules of Engagement as a mid-season replacement show, should either of the new comedies fall flat, or should low ratings dictate a schedule shuffle.

I’m super excited to see that The Unit was not only renewed for a fourth season, but also moved to Sunday nights at 10. That’s a great slot for it.

  • Christie Rosado said:

This is such a joke. Are you kidding me. This is what CBS cancelled Moonlight for. The Ex List. Screw the Ex-List. Any pathetic women that are watching this show have there own problems. Bring Moonlight back. Moonlight is a great show! I refuse to watch this ridiculous network anymore. I’m tired of the crap that keep and then they turn around and cancel the only good show they have on the air.

  • Carlos Robledo said:

This must be a joke you cancell Moonlight for what? i agree with Christie, im tired of the crap that CBS keeps and turn around and cancell the good stuff. You have always done great with supernatural stuff (Ghost Whispere) goin on 4 or 5 seasons now, and spiritial stuff like (Touch by an angel) they said this wouldnt last and it did 8 seasons, cmont ask for a little heavely help CBS do it now before its too late

  • Cpatain Lou said:

CBS has sense enough to bring back The Unit… HOORAY! I am disappointed that they cancelled Shark, though.

  • d2w said:

What about Jericho? It was a great show and CBS just left it hanging. I would like to see it come back!

  • Dale Alexander said:

Keep “old christine” and the big bang – Dumb and Dumber. Shark and Moonlight were great and I see this is a way for CBS to accelerate their race from 1st to last.

  • Earl said:

Are you going to have the second season of Dexter on CBS this fall!

  • mstailey (Author) said:

There has been no announcement made about Dexter: Season 2, but my guess is it’s being kept in reserve should the new schedule need a bailing out in early to mid 2009.

  • Lyndsey said:

This is ridiculous-I’ve never liked CBS until Moonlight, and they are taking it off the schedule?! I can’t believe it! It beat Private Practice for the people’s choice award, and that show is coming back! How am I going to get my vampire fix while we wait for more Stephenie Meyer books to come out?!

  • Brandi said:

As much as I like the Unit I will not be watching anything on CBS however if another station takes on Moonlight I will follow. CBS made a horrible mistake when they canceled Moonlight.

  • Rachel said:

Survivor is the only good show on CBS.

  • Marquita said:

I’ve had it with CBS! How dare they cancel Moonlight and Jericho. My two favorite shows. I can no longer support CBS and refuse to watch any new shows in the future. I’ve been disappointed one time to many. The Mentalist? Really? Sounds like a winner.

  • beccachick said:

I’m just glad “How I met your Mother” is coming Back. I liked “Rules of Engagement”, but guess keeping one of my shoes is enough.

  • Kat said:

I can’t believe they’re canceling Moonlight! That was the only show I watched on Fridays. I hope another network is smart enough to pick it up. Obviously, it has a huge following and I don’t know what CBS could possibly be thinking by canceling it. Oh wait, I know, let’s lose a huge percent of our viewers! What a way to run a network. I thought they were trying to target female viewers not make them find another network to watch….

  • mstailey (Author) said:

“Rules of Engagement” has been given a half season pickup for midseason 2009.

  • JULI said:

IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT CBS CANCELLED SHARK…IT WAS TOO INTELLIGENT FOR THE MASSES? IT HAD EVERYTHING…DRAMA, WARMTH, HUMOR…WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE????????

  • Sheen said:

I LOVE MOONLIGHT! Why did you not list it in the fall line-up? There is not much CBS has to brag about. NCIS, Ghost Whisper, and Moonlight are about it. PLEASE give it back! I look forward to watching tv on Friday because of G. Whisper & Moonlight!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS reality shows and your idea of comady are not my idea of entertainment. I’d rather clean the garage!

  • Missy said:

I’m glad I am not the only one who is excited about The Unit but extremely disappointed about Moonlight! I love Moonlight and it was wonderfully paired with Ghost Whisperer. I looked forward to my Friday night recording all week long! Seriously, how many chances are they gonna give Old Christine before they decide it’s the Cancelled Christine?! CBS: you need to re-think the Moonlight decision unless CBS stands for Crazy Boring Stuff.

  • Tracy said:

Can you please bring back Moonlight?

  • Dahr Prince said:

canceling Moonlight for some pathetic show about women who can’t make a decision on their own without CBS’s help, are you kidding me. Get a freakin life lady’s! I guess we’ll have to think of something else to send CBS besides peanuts for them to give a crap about what the fans want. I will watch ABC when the Ex List is on that is for sure. Wake up CBS, fans want Moonlight not dumb women and shows about marriage. I am a college student not a loser, only loser’s would want to watch the Ex List over Moonlight.

  • BStovall said:

Thank God they brought back the unit i felt like i had lost a best friend Thank you CBS

  • wwilli9510 said:

You always cancel the good shows like Moonlight and Shark . Please bring these shows back.

  • BillRaw said:

The Exec at CBS that canned Moonlight should be fired. I enjoyed the show. The could move the Ex-List to go up against Extreme Home Make Over and call it the Amazing Ex-List. Moonlight hits a vein with people, bring it back.

  • Pat said:

I LOVE their lineup! All the shows we watch are here – NCIS, The Unit, Num3ers, CSI, Survivor, Amazing Race, and HIMYM. I can’t wait for the Mentalist. It looks great from the previews. We really don’t watch any other network.

  • AJ said:

I was upset that CBS cancelled Close to Home for Moonlight. But, after I watched Moonlight, I was hooked. This has to be one of the stupidest decisions that they have ever made. Also, Shark was an amazing show. Friday night had turned into that “ghostly, vampirely” type of night. Let’s relpace vampire with tarot cards…WOW…bad decision CBS!!!!! Don’t piss off your viewers. It won viewers choice for god sakes!!!

  • Pat said:

What kind of idiots are running CBS? Cancelling Moonlight is one of the stupidest things yet. I enjoyed Shark also. I had even given up my Friday night eating out, so I could be home to watch. Outback, here I come.

  • Anne Kotlarz said:

Just wanted to say that I am very disappointed with CBS, I can’t believe that they cancelled Moonlight, it was one of the best shows in all of television I thought. I can’t believe that they putting some dumb show about a woman and her tarot cards, come oooooon, who is going to watch that. Moonlight was a totally awesome show, it was my friday night line-up, first Moonlight and then Numbers I could hardly wait for Friday nights, now it will probably be NBC for me.

  • Heidi said:

I’m disappointed to see that Rules of Engagement won’t be on regularly; I love that show!

  • Tee said:

My family and friends are upset that Shark is not coming back. We really enjoyed that show.

  • Elise said:

I hate that Shark was cancelled. That is one of the best shows on TV..James Woods is great in that as well as all the other supporting cast… Who ever made that decision, did not make a good one..at least in my opinion…

  • Maryann said:

I loved Shark, and never missed Moonlight! That’s it–I am not watching any new network shows–too annoying when they’re cancelled the next season for some dumb “reality” show. Netflix will have another new customer.

  • twilightwitch said:

Moonlight! Enough said. Vampire Solidarity, Rah, Rah, Rah.

  • JOY said:

I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY CANCELLED MONLIGHT!!! THEY JUST GOT US HOOKED ONTO MICK AND BETH AND THEN THEY ARE GOING TO PULL IT!!! FIRST SARAH IS NO LONGER ON CSI AND NOW THIS!!! IF IT WASNT FOR GHOST WHISPERER AND SURVIVOR I WOULDNT EVEN WATCH CBS

  • patrick said:

bring back moonlight on a saturday night i will definately wtch

  • Jackie said:

I used to enjoy watching CBS on Friday night. Well I guess we are done with regular channel. Who cancels a show that so many like. You brought back Jericho then take it away. Get a clue. I’m done CBS your no longer on my favorite list. Who actually runs that place people who don’t watch TV.

  • T.V.GURU said:

Like it matters, Here is my take on the “New” CBS fail, Oh excuse the typo, lol, fall line up. Lets look at Mondays, Worst week ever? How about worst night ever? CBS hasn’t had a Good Monday night since King of Queens & Raymond departed the line up, period. Next up Tuesday, smart move moving “Trace” to this night trying to bat clean up for a night of NCIS and the new kid on the “mental” block. This night might end up being the dark horse to slip in to the contender gate. On to Wednesday, first let me ask the question I know that is on everyone’s little criminal minds? Where do I send the flowers because “Gary” is D.O.A., what are they thinking? Leading in to these crime dramas with an hour block of a failing Christine and a new Gary. Hey CBS, put on an old pair of shoes before you shoot yourself in the foot! This may even hurt the 2 comeback kids of the night. In case you forgot, the idea is to get MORE viewers. Now for Thursday, what can I say? Well lets start with Survivor. Survivor, it is time to take yourself off the Island/Outback/Rainforrest or whatever Local you are shooting in because you are making us dumber by the Thursday. This show has not been fresh since the end of season 3, we have had our fill. Want a hit show? Place a action or suspense in that slot leading into C.S.I. and a hit will be born, or at least a chance to live. Now Friday, o.k., I’ll give you Ghost Wisperer but removing “Moonlight” from the list, major mistake. Very, Very popular show for the fans. Remember a little show you had at one time called “Dallas”, well maybe not that popular but a very very popular show. Almost an insult canceling this one and keeping “Numbers”. What are you thinking? No seriously, What are you thinking? Want raitings? Start with Ghost wisp, then Moonlight and end with “Shark”, yes I said Shark (another one on the gone list). Now for Sat. This has forever been a hard night to get the neilsons attention so go with original CBS “NEW” movies targeting the 40 plus audience to begin with and close it with 48 hours, thats a done deal baby. Watch the raitings rise! OR stick with what you got and get your butts kicked by repeats of Law & Order or something else on the Peacock station. And last but not least “Sunday” all you have to do is switch “Race” and “Unit” and watch the talley rise. LIKE A WISE MAN ONE SAID
“ALL IN ALL REMEMBER THE AUDIENCE RUNS THE SHOW, IF THEY DIDN’T THERE WOULD BE NO SHOW.”
    Who said that?
    Well, that would be me,
    The “T.V. Guru”

Now that Moonlighting is gone CBS has lost again. So tired of all of the reality shows (live is enough for me, care to look at gas prices) They had Friday nights all laid out,( can’t afford to go anywhere why not watch the best night on t.v) oh that’s right NOT WORTH WAYCHING NOW, like someone else said HELLO NETFLIX.

  • Suzanne said:

I have watched CBS religiously for years, but you made a big mistake by getting rid of Moonlight and Jericho. Who mades these dumb decisions that cost you viewers? Goodbye CBS

  • A Shaver said:

I’m sorry to see Moonlight go, an engaging program with charming leading characters. I believe this is a mistake.

  • melissa said:

NOT HAPPY ABOUT MOONLIGHT BEING CANCELLED>>>>Not a VERY WISE DECISION CBS!!!!! I am extremely disappointed in your lack of judgement on cancelling this show! Are you a network that wishes to attract viewers or lose them!!!

  • Trina said:

I can’t believe all you have done CBS. First Sarah leaves CSI, and now Warwick is not coming back. Then you cancel Moonlight and Shark and Rules of Engagement is only coming on for 1/2 a season. And I can’t believe you are bringing Old Christine back, how aweful!!! What are you going to cancel next, Ghost Whisperer or maybe the CSI’s. You guys are getting ridiculous with your line-up. And I agree with some of the other comments, the REALITY SHOWS are getting REAL OLD!!!

  • Connie said:

I am sooo glad they are keeping The Amazing race—best show ever–please keep it going CBS!

  • Tania said:

I really hope another network picks Moonlight up for 2009 – it was a GREAT SHOW!

    Bad decision CBS…
Another bad decision was cancelling women’s murder club….

  • Margie said:

I’m a big Moonlight fan as well. It was the show that brought me back to CBS. That line-up on Friday night made me stay home and watch TV. Guess I’ll be going to the movies on Friday nights again. Hope another network picks up Moonlight.

  • Colleen said:

I AM WITH MOST EVERYONE ON HERE. I DON’T KNOW WHAT CBS WAS THINKING WHEN IT CANCLED MOONLIGHT. THAT WAS THE BEST SHOW ON THE NETWORK. DIDN’T IT WIN FOR THE PEOPLES CHOICE FOR BEST NEW DRAMA. CBS REALLY SCREWED UP. MICK IS THE BEST. THE SHOW WAS SO FUN TO WATCH. AND WOMAN’S MURDER CLUB. THAT WAS GREAT. WHO IS PICKING THE SHOWS AT CBS? COME ON “CHRISTINE” AGAIN. THAT SHOW HAS NEVER BEEN GOOD.

  • Andie said:

Ahhhh, you’ve got to be kidding me… Christine …. please. I absolutely cannot believe CBS took Moonlight and Shark off the Fall schedule. Whoever they have making these decisions really really needs to rethink this one or should I say these two. If not, I guess I’ll be looking at ABC, NBC or Fox on Wed from 8-9 and of course the only thing decent on Monday is Two and a Half Men. Thank goodness they left that alone.

  • Cierra said:

You people SUCK!! I can’t believe you’re taking off my show… Moonlight is the BOMB!! What are you people at CBS smoking?!?! I really like this show! It’s probably the only local station show I watch! Thank goodness for satellite! Also, reality TV BITES! It’s the same stuff season after season, just with different people, but still the same. The Amazing Race is the only one that’s any good anyway.

  • Julianna said:

How the hell could they cancel Shark???? It was the best show that station had. At least they kept part of Friday night in tact – but Shark??? James Woods deserved better.

    They blew it!

  • Connie said:

Two decent shows Moonlight and Shark. Your fall line up needs a transfusion. I looked forward to these shows even over Ugly Betty. Now back to Betty, turn your back’s on CBS everyone in the TV audience. Reality is it’s cheaper to produce reality and low budget, bad acting. B movies are being replace with C TV. Where did I put that antenna, I don’t need to watch when I don’t have a “box”.

  • heather said:

I can not beleive that they cancled moonlight and rules of engagment. i have lost all my faith in cbs. guess its back to nbc.

  • mstailey (Author) said:

They didn’t cancel “Rules of Engagement.” It’ll be back at midseason.

  • Juli said:

Moonlight was another favorite. Bill Paley used to stand behind his network when I worked for KCBS (then KNXT) in Los Angeles, that sure doesn’t matter anymore. Especially when they have the great actors – they would rather put on this stream of trite game shows and reality tv – I feel like they’re headed back to the 50’s. If that’s the case, please resurect Dinah Shore, Judy Garland and start with the Variety Shows. Nobody did it better then Ed.

  • Mog said:

Can’t believe you cancelled Moonlight and Shark!!!! CBS is loosing viewers steadily and now you take off shows that everyone really likes so you lose more viewers. Moonlight and Shark go to USA….. The USA network has more sense about what good programming is than the programmers at CBS. Your line up gets worse and worse. Get your programmers to listen to what viewers you have left and get these programs back!

  • Adrian said:

Shark, Moonlight, and Jericho all gone. There is absolutely no reason to EVER watch this station.

  • Adri said:

Ok what ever happend with CANE? Sorry But I liked that show and I think that it lost a good chance of being a hit because of the strike. Also really who wants to watch a show about some lady trying to get married. Also I would rather watch JERICHO I like the Partiotic feel of that show. HEY CBS do you even listen to your viewers did you forget about the peanuts. If CBS is serious about getting more female viewers then they should keep that HOTTY Mick. Really we need to have Moonlight following Ghost Whisperer it made it a great paranormal kind of night. I dont watch TV live I love to just record everything because I dont want to watch commercials seriously I just want the good stuff. My DVR is my best friend to fast forward through all those commericals. I have found that the more that CBS gets rid of good shows the more I find myself watching other networks. I have even started watching Ugly Betty that is how bad CBS is getting. Also NO MORE AMAZING RACE PLEASE. I have had it with watching people run around and make fools of themselves. Ok that is my venting for today.

  • Rhonda Banks said:

WHAT ABOUT KID NATION?! I Here they’re having trouble finding a town to accomodate the little tikes. Well I’ve got a few suggestions… I hear that FDLS ‘ranch’ is good at exploiting children. Better yet, what about Neverland Ranch.

  • Sheryl said:

You cancel Moonlight and replace it with the Ex-List…..come on put the crack pipe down. Bring back Moonlight!

  • Jay Dees said:

The Execs at CBS cancelled Moonlight?? Just goes to show you, they don’t have the brains God gave a Bat.

  • Juli said:

No, but they have Katie Couric, need I say more???? Only thing decent on that station anymore is Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer, Numbers and CBS Sunday Morning.

Oh wait, I know what it is – they have Jerry Bruckheimer sewn at the hip – must be kick back time.

  • M Sherwood said:

Cancel Moonlight? What’s up with that??? I guess good programming isn’t the goal anymore. If it gets picked up by another network….bye bye CBS!

  • Gregg said:

CBS SUCKS for CANCELLING MOONLIGHT. GOODBYE CBS! ABC and NBC here we come!

  • eve/sparky said:

Moonlight???? that was just ANGEL-revampt….I am glad that the big bang theory and HIMYM are back…Those 2 shows are smart comedies… I understand everyones’ anger regarding your favorite show being cancelled. I am glad that my two favorite shows are back…ps Gary will return to CSI and not in flashbacks lol, aslo Sarah will return for a few shows……

  • Juli said:

I hate sitcoms! After Murphy Brown, that was it for me.

  • Roocy said:

CBS is soooo CSI & NCIS & Survivor heavy, that I rarely watch the network anymore, the only thing interesting on the Fall lineup to me is The Mentalist and that’s only because I enjoy the lead actor’s work. Seriously CBS, who’s deciding your programming these past couple years???

  • Roocy said:

Oops, my mistake, forgot to mention that I absolutely LOVE Swingtown… those were my childhood years so this show fits the bill, perfectly, nostalgic and enlightening (at least now I know what the adults were really talking about!).

  • kacy said:

cannot believe they cancelled my two favorite shows:Shark and Moonlight! come on CBS bring them back.

  • annoyed viewer said:

CBS… ARE YOU ON CRACK!? How can you cancel Moonlight after it won the People’s Choice Award for new tv drama?! People’s Choice means that PEOPLE LIKE IT AND WANT TO SEE IT!!! THIS IS WHY PEOPLE HATE CBS!!!! You’re fools! Do you have monkeys running your network? GET A GRIP!

  • Shena said:

I cannot believe that Moonlight is not coming back, it was my absolute favorite show. What in the world was CBS thinking?????

  • Alan Woodin said:

Come on Les Moonves, you have got to give us Shark, Moonlight and Cane. They are wonderful shows. Us Baby Boomers want these shows back.

  • Cathy said:

Is Dexter coming back this Fall to CBS?

  • CVZ said:

Please, please, please, don’t cancel Moonlight. I looked forward to that show all week long. I guess I will have to watch another network. I just don’t see how that show ex-list would appeal to women more than Moonlight. Please bring back Shark too.

  • Michael Stailey (Author) said:

“Is Dexter coming back this Fall to CBS?”

When I interviewed Julie Benz several weeks ago, there were no set plans to bring Season Two of Dexter to CBS. However, if something on the new Fall schedule falters, don’t be surprised if you see it show up as a replacement series.

  • BL said:

Moonlight was my favorite show…I can’t believe you cancelled it after one season.

  • Lorre said:

How could you cancel Cane? I’m tired of the same old BS on TV, at least Cane had drama, sex (married man faithful to his wife) and family values. It appealed to every adult age with the range of veteren actors and new comers to the screen, the talent and visual effects were of interest. Last but not least I’m tired of the pasty faced white folks on every other channel. It was great seeing different ethnicities on television other than Black Americans and Hispanic Americans (most of those shows were not on the traditional major networks). When the station heads or whomever decides the cancellation of shows make their decisions how about asking JOE Q PUBLIC and I mean other than white middle america. The rest of us would like to have a say so on what’s available to watch on television. A middle class, middle aged Black women.

  • Nancy said:

I agree with with most of the people that made comments. CBS almost had the best line up. I cannot believe you cancelled Moonlight & Shark & Cane. I hate the freaking reality shows. Not just one, all of them. Life is hard enough without all that crap, all those stupid shows. Old Christine, give me breaks. I much soon as watch ice melt. Swingtown, you have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel. You know most people over 50 watch TV at night. Love NCIS, all CSI, Criminal Mines, Ghost Whisper, Cold Case. Bring back Moonlight, Shark and put in a movie of the week like the Jessie Stone movies and you will have a winning season.

  • CBS SUCKS said:

i’m so freaking sick of cbs and their canceling show freak exec’s. I hope they get fired. The have canceled way too many of my favorite shows, Jericho, Shark, Moonlight and Cane. I freakin’ hate this network. They suck. As for their F!#$ING reality shows; I hope the execs burn in hell for allowing that crap to continue.

  • Michelle said:

WHAT THE FREAKING HELL. HOW CAN CBS REPLACE MOONLIGHT!!! AND FOR SOME GAY TAROT CARD SHOW. IF THEY WANT A BIGGER FEMALE AUDIENCE THEN THEY HAVE TO KEEP MOONLIGHT. THIS MAKES ME WANT TO BOYCOTT CBS.

  • carol said:

i cant believe you cancelled moonlight do you people care what we want hope you enjoy the unemployment line cause you keep cancelling shows people want thats where tour going to be

  • Whoopi said:

I am just glad NCIS and The Unit are coming back. I was really worried. Sounds like the selection of shows for the fall line up was based on studio politics rather than quality shows.

  • Ritamae Sampson said:

The Friday night line-up has been perfect the way it was bring back Moonlight. Mick and Beth have a bunch of fans in North Carolina. We feel it would be a mistake to not bring them back. At least move them to Saturday nights in order to keep the shows you already have lined-up. Having two hous of 48 hours with Moonlight on Saturdays would be great!!

  • Leeaz383 said:

Yes!!! BRING BACK MOONLIGHT!!! That was a GREAT show!!! Made for a PERFECT Friday night!!!. Now I’m gonna have to start hitting the mute button on Friday night again. And I don’t care what CBS puts in that middle time-slot, I won’t watch it out of protest for Moonlight being gone!!!

  • Trisha Boyd said:

I get three channels where I live, rising gas prices mean I can’t afford cable or satellite anymore.

The channel that comes in worst is CBS. But I was willing to sit thru a snowy channel that I could barely see so I could watch Jericho and Moonlight. Guess my TV watching goes back to the PBS. At least they listen to their viewers, because we’re the ones paying their bills. And their channel is crystal clear.

Another thing, they want me to subscribe to their WATCH magazine. When now the only show I’d watch is NCIS. Please!

  • Sav said:

You cancelled SHARK!!! Fantastic show, it was almost better than CSI. Actually it would have been better now that Warick is gone. Bring back James Woods please!!!

  • dc2wife said:

I’m so glad the Unit is coming back.. knowing this just made my day.. thank you cbs

  • Ramie C said:

I agree with Most of the other people, Moonlight and Cane were 2 of the best shows on TV!!!! I’m very dissapointed with CBS for these cancelations….

  • Chris said:

What kind of crazy is CBS experiencing? They canceled Shark .. Bad Idea!! They CANCELED MOONLIGHT .. Absolutely Awful Idea. That show was fantastic. It was a great fit on the friday night line up! If CBS doesn’t get a clue and renew it then I hope another network will pick it up. That will be the network I’ll be watching!!! As for that stupid Ex-List .. I don’t have a problem changing the channel after Ghost Whisper and turn back when Numbers comes on. After all :) that is what a remote control is for.

  • dj said:

from what I understand they want females to watch cbs they took off moonlight and females did watch it when sports did not over ride it and then cbs wonders why the rating was bad on moonlight females for the most part don’t watch sports and this new show swingtown they can take that off and keep moonlight.
swingtown is bad show and not for kids at all it will teach them all the things we try to keep away from them

  • Rick said:

Here we go again.CBS HAD a winning lineup for the most
part.Wam bam a new season and they (cbs)take the opportunity to totally screw the viewers.I agree with the majority….Moonlighting and Shark. To hell with you.
You don`t respect us, why should we be satisfied with the garbage you attempt to “entertain”us.With all the commercial`s that are rammed down our throat`s I would think your aim would be to keep viewer`s.Guess what……….I`m gone.No more CBS…………Idiot`s!

  • Jen said:

Moonlight was my favorite show of last season. I loved it so much, that I even downloaded every show from ITunes and have watched them over and over. I can’t believe that CBS has dropped it. Christine is another one of my faves as well as Rules of Engagement. I see that they are retaining these for now but I don’t agree with the move of Christine to Wednesday’s and I think they need to place Rules of Engagement as a season starter, not a mid season filler. I, too am considering no longer watching CBS. They obviously do not value my viewing preferences.

  • Margaret Parsons said:

I think I will join others and CBS will be off our watching list. I asked before in a letter and never received an answer and will ask again – let me see the Nielson ratings on who is not watching SHARK and JERICHO and who is watching these other shows. From the fan comments, doesn’t seem to be the consensus. I have given my e-mail – let me know. I want SHARK AND JERICHO FOR good family real life TV drama shows.

  • Frustrated said:

Rethink the cancelled shows. Remember the strike has something to do with the ratings.

  • ZONDRIA said:

I’m with so many other people here CBS has FUCKED UP!!!!!!! I only watch TV on Fridyas so that I can see Ghoast Whisper and MOONLIGHT and you go and cancel the show. Then you move Shark to Sundays and that was one of my shows also and it’s not coming back. How the hell do you plan on keeping your viewers if you keep canceling all of your good shows. I could care less about any other show your network has on besides the SOAP OPERAS so you really need to bring back Shark and Moonlight.

  • ZONDRIA said:

    YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gary C said:

For whatever it’s worth, here goes. I’m with most everyone here when it comes to trying to understand CBS’ programming choices. It’s very apparent that what the viewers want plays no part in what they decide to air. Tuesdays at 10pm must be the slot that they use as a series “hospice”, it seems that every show that winds up in that slot is soon to be gone. I think that is why Jericho ended up there when they did bring it back. They knew that it would breathe its last breath there. That way they “gave the viewers what they wanted”, but still got their way. Is “Without a Trace” next?
The next big question I have is why discard all of the shows that people want to watch and leave Saturday night to air reruns? They have enough great shows that the people want to watch in the trash heap, but keep feeding us junk that has already been aired?

Hey CBS, contrary to your opinions of us, we are not idiots!! Lose your viewers just so you can get YOUR way, sounds almost like congress!!

  • belinda said:

    I want my Shark

  • GeorgiaGirl said:

Like everybody else, I am going to miss Moonlight. I can’t imagine what CBS was thinking. Moonlight and Ghost Whisperer was a great pairing. Don’t know who they think will watch CBS now.

CBS SUCKS YET AGAIN!!!!! Friday Nights was once again the one of the best nights on TV. Moonlight made it happen. I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!!! What happened?? Thanks for keeping NCIS, just about the only good show you have on your network besides CSI Miami, The Unit, Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, and Numbers. All of you at the CBS Network need to be fired!!!!!!

  • Cindy said:

Cancel Moonlight and Shark???? CBS are you mad??? You cancelled Jericho too. These are some of the best programs on tv. Guess you just want me to tune you out…. will do!

I finally begin to watch CBS after who knows how many years and here they go again losing me again. “MOONLIGHT ” was the best show that you had ON YOUR LINEUP. When I watched the first episode of MOONLIGHT I couldn’t believe that CBS had finally pick up a show that peeked my interest I couldn’t wait ’til Friday to watch another episode I was hooked. And the you go ahead and cancel MOONLIGHT for another reality show. I am a woman viewer and have no attraction NOR intention to watch The Ex-List. I am another viewer that is sick and tired of watching reality shows. I am not interested in people wanting to air their dirty laundry on television for money or attention. GET A LIFE PEOPLE. WHAT A WASTE.

  • Laraine said:

So I guess it’s true CBS does stand for Causes Boredom and Sleep. I finally have a great show again in Moonlight and you take it off for some stupid show about a woman needing to marry (that alone is an insult). I can’t believe that any woman or human being for that matter will have any interest in this show. I thought taking off Jericho was your worst move but you managed to top it.
What exactly does CBS have against great drama series?
    Way to go again CBS!

I can’t believe you canceled CANE!!! What is wrong with you!

  • Sharon said:

I am not feeling the love CBS…I thought the viewers were an important part of what shows would stay on your fall lineup. I agree that Ghost Whisper & then Moonlight were coupled together in perfect harmony. So many shows are all the same with the same story lines that it was so refreshing to see a new hip show on TV. Losing Moonlight is just another stupid move made from mindless high corp people who are not listening to the masses!! The Ex-List…What the ….why are we replacing Moonlight with this show?!! Did it win the People’s Choice Award?! I thought not… Get a clue & give the people what they want. Without us (the viewers) you are nothing. We can only hope another network is smart enough to pick this great show up!!!
I will boycott that Friday night time slot!!! We are Moonlight Addicts that need our Fix!!! LISTEN!!!

  • CATHY said:

You people at CBS have no idea how much I looked forward to Friday nights to watch Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, and Numbers. Also, I looked forward to watching Shark. I cannot believe that you are taking away my favorites. I used to also enjoy Close to Home. With all of the reality and news shows on the other networks, CBS was a good alternative.

Guess I’ll have to find a new network to watch.

  • Stephanie said:

Here’s one more outcry for the canceling of Moonlight. After a hard work week, Friday was my night to escape with a vampire :-) . How exactly was the decision made?? Looks like I’ll be joining Cathy and others as we find another network to watch. I guess they’ll figure it out when there is no one watching CBS on Friday’s anymore–idiots.

We can’t believe that CBS canceled moonlight. From now on NONE of my family nor my friends will be watching CBS as a result of the cancellation. I hope that when they see the declining ratings they will realise, that moonlight was the life of this chanel

Also replacing it with the Ex-list was just adding insult to injury my mother is a single mom, and happy about it. The Ex-list seems extremely sexist, and should not be promoted on the air

I can’t believe CBS cancelled Moonlight and Sahrk, two of my favorite shows. I was so looking forward to the Fall so I could see these 2 shows, 2 of my favorites. I think that CBS needs to rethink this decision. It appears that many other people share my opinion! Good Luck! I will be looking to another networks to watch TV!

  • Dot said:

OK I think I now know why CBS took off MOONLIGHT ,
they did not want a law suite , So they blame it on the rating that we all know was very good .But at the same time the show was to much like forever nightand they did not want to get sued for plagerizum. forever night was a hit on another network .but I and my Family want Moonlight back.not thing swing town trash on teleivion

  • Remyr said:

What they cancelled SHARK!! We love this show. I thought they would be bringing this back this fall. We never failed to watch SHARK since it’s such a great show I love James Wood’s character. CBS what were you thinking!!! I know a lot loves Moonlight..however, I can’t help but compare it to Forever Knight..it is so similar.

  • christy said:

I cann’t believe that your cacelling two great shows Moonlight and Shark. They were both written and had great casts people who we loved to watch(James Wood’s chareter was serious and had a comic side we laughed and cried at times) Too bad that CBS no longer wants their fans to stay with the network for years instead of just a couple of weeks. I guess I’ll be looking at NBC more they seam to treat thier fans with more repect.

  • Robin said:

I am pretty happy with the fall lineup, except for Rules of Engagement only getting a half season. My husband and I love the show. I am so excited about NCIS coming back. I was worried that it was being cancelled. I am getting very bored with the New Adventures of Old Christine. Will there be new episodes or will the old ones be repeated? I also really enjoy Two and a Half Men. I can’t wait to see the new ones. My husband and I really enjoy Cold Case and Criminal Minds, also. They are both so intriguing

  • Tom said:

Moonlight was about the only thing worth watching on Friday. Don’t comp;ain to CBS, complain to their sponsors. That is where the money is. When we the viewers want something, we need to express it to the sponsors and let CBS know that we have done so.

  • Kimberley said:

I am VERY upset about cbs cancelling Moonlight. Up here in the great Northwest when its dark and rainy on Friday nights theres nothing better than to curl up in front of the fire and catch the latest Moonlight after Ghost Whisperer. Boy you guys really know how to betray your loyal viewers. Bad move….

  • Linda said:

GOSH!! My mind is still reeling over the fact that Las Vegas was canceled. When they leave you with cliff hangers, they should at least bring closure to the show that they are terminating by making a final episode that has a happy ever after ending. Now onto my next gripe. HOW DARE YOU TAKE OFF CANE, SHARK AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST JERICO. So many people that did not watch the first season of Jerico finally got in on the action after the peanut ploy. These people wanted to see what they had been missing. AND YES, you did gain more viewers after this. Get rid of ex list, christina (her days are numbered anyway you look at it), and Gary. Most people have tivo or some other recording device they could use on saturday nights and would love to record some of thier favs that you have canceled. I am open to alternatives EXCEPT DRAMA REPEATS on Saturday. One of my biggest pet peeves is NUMBERS. You take an hour long show, remove the commercials, now you have a 45 min show and in that 45 minutes, it is all double talk. They say one thing and then have to say it in lamens talk. So now you have a 22 1/2 minute program. Just cut the crap talk and go for 30 min. and do your stupid christina for 30 minutes and there you go. yoo Hoo, you have an extra hour to put one of our shows back.
Does anyone have any idea how the peanut deal went with CBS. Perhaps we could do it again. Let me know if you have any ideas. Maybe we could send them cotton from Georgia. It is light weight but I dont know the cost. However since CBS has proven time and time again how dumb they are they would use the cotton to make fake snow. The last comment that I would like to address is to Lorre. Above you will find her comments. Lorre, just for your information. I am pure white cracker. You make it sound like CBS and people of my breed did not like Cane because of the ethnic people on the show. I assure you my dear, this definately is not the case for the middle white America. I mean take a look at Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, I could go on and on. Middle white America makes up most of the veiwing habits that a show has. These shows were on the air for years and thrived. This is not an ethnic problem, it is a ignorant CBS executive problem. We need to come together and not make this a racial thing. We will definately get more accomplished. AAAAAND THAT IS THE END OF MY OPINION.

  • Jericho hottie said:

cbs you have completely been locked out of my channel line up Moonlight and Jericho gone? WTF are you out of your nuts? Shall we send some more. I am truly ashamed of anyone who watches cbs for whatever reason. What will us moonlighters and bomb watchers do? Think about it cbs you are going to go bankrupt after you lose so many viewers

  • hazel said:

I have never been a fan of CBS nightime television. Then finally you came out with 3 television programs that I loved. Moonlighting, Cane, and Ghost Whispers. Once again I am disaapointed by television because this seems to happen whenever there is a good program on. Also what makes it so bad is they never have closure. Meaning the show will go off for the season and you think it is going to return and then the writers do not even come up with an episode to end the program. I will not watch CBS programs.

  • Barbara said:

Okay, CBS did one thing right, at least they left Ghost Whisperer. So much for my Friday night line up. Getting rid of Moonlight was a BIG mistake. My family was addicted to it from episode one. The one good thing about Fall coming is the new episodes and than you cancel our favorite! Hope some heads roll for that decision and hopefully another station will be smart and pick it up!!!!!!

  • mary said:

I am a girl and I am very upset Moonlight is cancelled for that dumb other show and I also agree, the Adventures of Old Christine is so sickening I will not watch it.
    I loved Moonlight.

Reality shows need to go. We watch TV to escape reality. I watch for comedies and so far CBS is the only network with any worth watching. Good thing I have 250 other channels to choose from and am not relagated to this crap they are serving up as entertainment. Too bad the exec’s don’t listen to the public, or read these boards.

  • Stephanie said:

Shark was a GREAT show – if the so-called ratings dropped it’s because you people have to move shows around throughout the season and dedicated viewers have a hard time keeping up with what day & time slot it went to next. With the writer’s strike no shows should have been cancelled that helped mess up ratings. BRING BACK SHARK!

  • motherhen4jc said:

The best decision CBS made was bringing The Unit back! That show and NCIS are my favorite two shows on CBS. My husband and I were very disappointed when there were no signs of The Unit coming back. CBS, you have redeemed yourself!

Ummmm haven’t you heard about that new movie TWILIGHT????????? That is going to be awesome and you take a vampire show off the air. bravo idiots!

  • Sara said:

Last season, I watched many of your shows religiously. NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI, Numbers, and…Moonlight. Obviously, I am seriously disappointed with your decision to cancel Moonlight. I believe this is a huge mistake and browsing through the comments listed above, I’m certainly not alone. CBS, you really need to reconsider what can only be viewed as an incomprehensible error in judgement.

  • Syl said:

Wow… The decision to remove Moonlight, Women’s Murder Club, and Shark from CBS’s Fall lineup was quite frankly a gross misjudgment on the part of CBS’s programming director. Who cancels the #1 new drama of the season anyway?

Then to say that the decision to do so was, at least in part, “…designed specifically to attract more female viewers” is irrefutably the most incomprehensibly moronic decision made by a network executive in recent memory!

All of my friends and I watched the now cancelled programs religiously. And guess what? WE’RE ALL WOMEN! Reality shows are not the way to go!

CBS really needs to rethink their lineup! Cancelling the number 1 new drama is simply idiotic.

  • Syl said:

CBS really needs to rethink their lineup! Canceling the #1 People’s Choice New Drama of the 2007 season is simply idiotic. Yes, that would be Moonlight. Who cancels the #1 new drama of the season anyway?

There are a few promising new shows coming up and they deserve a chance – The Mentalist and Eleventh Hour sounds highly promising. There are a good number of returning shows that are definite winners – NCIS, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, CSI: NY, and Numbers. But the decision to remove Moonlight and Shark from CBS’s 2008 Fall lineup was quite frankly a gross misjudgment on the part of CBS’s programming director.

Then to say that the decision to do so was, at least in part, “…designed specifically to attract more female viewers” is irrefutably the most incomprehensibly moronic decision made by a network executive in recent memory!

All of my friends and I watched the now cancelled programs faithfully. And guess what? WE’RE ALL WOMEN! Reality shows are not the way to go! They are both mind numbing and mind rotting. First they numb, then they rot!

I have to admit that I live for NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI and Numb3rs so I am pretty happy with the line-up!!!!

BUT CBS should NEVER (and I know this is semi-off topic) BE ALLOWED TO BROADCAST FOOTBALL!!!!! It’s like watching/listening in a vacuum. The commentators just blab, blab, blab but never about what is going on on the field—WHO HAS THE BALL, what down is it, yards to go, what quarter, TIME???, AND THE GRAPHICS COMPLETELY USELESS especially if you leave the room for even a second. When you come back there is a little logo in the corner and they are talking about coaching strategy not about what is going on on the field. It’s ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!! and pathetic!!!! I miss Sonny and Sam on the radio.

  • eric said:

Shark!!!!!!!!! What is wrong with the people in charge of the line up at CBS?!?!?

It time for people to call the people that sponsor these networks and tell them enough of the reality shows! We don’t watch them and we are not going to purchase your products if you do!!!!

CBS is more and more like NBC = No Body Cares.. we only do BAD TV

  • assuit said:

3 months CBS free! I might go back for the mentalist but its not a given.

Hee Hee, Im in the demographic they want, right income bracket and guess what advertisers – I don’t watch that channel anymore since they cancelled Moonlight. Spiteful I know but Im the consumer and I ain’t going to consume “The ex-list” which appears both pathetic and irritating. Nina is tooooo scared to admit cancelling Moonlight was a mistake. It would be a sigh of weakness, also her picks like Swingtown are tanking.

  • Shannon said:

How does a network cancel a show that won the People’s Choice Award for best new drama? are there idiots running this network?

I won’t watch the Ex-List and I’m tempted to bail on Ghost Whisperer too just to prove a point. I think I’ll stop watching CBS night programs in general in fact.

  • Lee said:

I just dont understand. Moonlight gone! It can not be true. What is wrong with you people? You way over due with so many of the themes…next it will be CSI Iraq…why not?
I have to agree with just about every one on this site…you made a huge mistake takig Moonlight off the air. I do hope another picks it up.

Lets be honest here people. What we want never counts for anything..none of these stations really care about the viewers…if they did Pee Wee Herman would have never had a show.

Network TV can go to….HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I can’t believe that CBS finally found a cast with the kind of chemistry to actually addict us and has thrown it out? Why would CBS cancel two great shows Moonlight and Shark?! It’s a big mistake. Moonlight was exciting, sexy and kept me home on a Friday night! Shark was an intelligent show with sharp wit! Hope you bring these back.

The Ex-list and Project Gary don’t seem that they have what it takes.

    This is very disappointing.

  • Angela said:

Bring Moonlight back….a lot of people were looking forward to the next season…I know I was. I am extremely disappointed in the decisions the network makes when it comes to programming. Give us Moonlight

bring back moonlight and shark, I totally enjoyed the fri nite lineup before.

  • Leigh-Anne said:

Puhleeze! May I respectfully inquire as to the logic behind the cancellation of Shark and Moonlight? The programs that replaced them is an insult to the television viewers. What will it take to get Shark and Moonlight back on the schedule? The old Friday night line-up was one of the best on TV. Will there be more episodes of Swingtown?

Thanks for any consideration in this matter,
    Leigh-Anne

  • Leigh-Anne said:

I forgot to ask about Flashpoint-what is the status of this exciting show? I like Swingtown because it relates to my early twenties, plus it is so authentic!!

I can’t believe you cancelled Cane, Moonlight, & Shark!Like so many of your viewers, I too looked forward to Friday night with Ghost Whisper and Moonlight. Wll as soon as Ghost Whisper is finished, the TV channel switches.
To make matters worse, gone are Jimmy Smits on Cane and James Woods on Shark. You need to serviously rethink your fall schedule.

  • eydie said:

first, it’s nice to know i’m not alone and that so many people are madder than hell that moonlight was cancelled. i got positively giddy all day friday, just anticipating an hour of alex o’laughlin. by the way, nina tassler is the woman who made the decision to cancel moonlight. this is after pretty much saying that it would NOT be cancelled. not only did she lie, she’s a short sighted idiot and here’s why: before moonlight, the slot was filled with a show called “close to home”.
first, i loved close to home and was pissed when it got cancelled, but the minute i laid eyes on alex o’laughlin, i forgot everything. anyway, with close to home, ghost whisperer was on the bubble, meaning that it, too, was in real danger of being cancelled. along comes moonlight and an amazing thing happened. ghost whisperer’s audience shot up by several million. moonlight was pulling an average of 7 million viewers, which for a friday time slot, is nothing short of phenomenal. my prediction: by making the boneheaded move of cancelling moonlight, cbs has now reendangered ghost whisper. look for this to be ghost whisper’s last season, which is going to piss me off all over again. bottom line: nina tassler is an idiot and she couldn’t possibly care less about what viewers think.

  • Bev said:

I can’t believe CBS was stupid enough to take Moonlight off. Friday night used to be my favorite TV night with Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight and Numbers. Hey why don’t you guys wise up and move the “Ex-List” to Thursday’s to replace “Survivor” (Survivor has long past gotten old and besides who wants to watch people constantly arguing and backstabbing each other any way), put Moonlight back on! What’s next for the chopping block? Other great shows Like Big Bang Theory, CSI, NCIS, or heaven forbid, Ghost Whisperer, does CBS even listen to it’s viewers?

  • John Mc Fall said:

Please no Moonlight? It was a great show. It worked great with Ghostwhisper. Mack

  • Warren Quinton said:

One of your better programs is NCIS.

Are you trying to tell me that no one at CBS has gotten a clue yet about Moonlight? Are you really not catching on to the HUGE mistake it is to not bring back moonlight and Shark? Why would anyone want to watch your new shows? So you can cancel them as soon as we get interested? And Seriously people. Replacing Moonlight with the Ex-list. COME ON, WHO IS RUNNING YOU SHOW OVER THERE? Well, he or she gets my vote for moron of the decade. If any other net work is reading this and decides to pick up moonlight, I think you can see what a huge following you will get. I’ll be there.

Another quality show [Jericho] bites the dust. A decision made by some jerk-off executive types sitting in board rooms that have no clue what good television is. Thanks CBS for dumbing down your network, AGAIN!

Thank you CBS for at least keeping NCIS, I would watch Shark and Woman’s Club on what ever station has the smarts to pick it up. I liked Close to Home too….Can you hear what we the people are saying?

  • Batman9200@aol.com said:

Since I have taped some moonlight, I will check and see the advertisers. And start writing them. CBS needs a headache for this. I can write enough letters for Moonlight and Cane to make the Big Shot Les moonvez are what ever his name is,to take some Asprin at least. Everyone should do this. So they will think twice about spending advertising money with CBS. The CBS CEO losers shoud retire.

  • Batman9200@aol.com said:

Maybe even get a list of the largest stockholders. Are they satisfied with the direction of the stayed to long ,CEO’s at CBS. They are to satisfied in their jobs with no real direction. Maybe its like Dick Chaney ,been there to long and got to sure of himself. Lazy and its my way or no way. Bad for advertizers.

And, surely there is an opening for “Cane”.
We wait all week for Friday nights and you

I can’t believe how many people are crying over the cancellation of Moonlight. I tried watching it a few times and thought it was pretty lame. Although I do agree that The Ex-List looks like it’s going to be a real loser.

  • Jennifer said:

I never saw an episode of Ghost Whisperer until I started watching Moonlight, in fact, I only rented movies on Friday night because there wasn’t anything on that interested me until FNL and Moonlight came along. So now you go and cancel a great show like Moonlight and you lose me as a viewer for your other show as well. I really enjoyed having a vampire flick to watch to take the sting out of losing a great show like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I just don’t get it……seems like everyone liked the show. BAD CHOICE CBS!

  • Disappointed & Confused said:

CANNOT Believe that Moonlight, Shark and Jericho were canceled for such fluff as Ex-List and New Adventures of Old Christine!! CBS must have it’s brains in a jar on some forgotten shelf! NAofOC should be on late-night programming on the Playboy channel–I can’t believe that CBS airs that smut on prime time. It certainly leaves NOTHING to the imagination. Whatever happened to good taste and common decency–not to mention censorship? BRING BACK THE GOOD STUFF AND GET RID OF THE NO-SUBSTANCE PROGRAMMING OF LAST SEASON!!!

  • nancy said:

New Adventures of Old Christine is such a great sitcom. I laugh every minute. Julia is an incredible comedian as are the other cast members.

They better bring Rules of Engagement back. That was one of the best shows on Monday nights!! And why do they keep trying to add new stuff?! Keep with the stuff that gets the ratings, don’t change it around so much because of course you will get bad ratings, people get lost trying to keep up with new stuff!!

  • Leslie said:

Oh come on how can you base an entire TV show on “Worst Week” that makes no sense that you take off “Shark” and “Moonlight” which were both good stable shows to put on maybes and hopefuls. There is plenlty of room for to bring back those two shows on Saturday night.

  • gail said:

I wish they would have kept Cane in the line up I really enjoyed that show

  • Renee said:

Seriously, if they wanted to keep the women viewers they should have kept “Moonlight”. CBS had been on the verge of converting me as a regular viewer, with their Friday night lineup. Now I might watch “Ghost Whisperer”, but most likely it will become my movie night because “The Ex-List” doesn’t even interest me.

  • Spencer said:

I agree with everyone about Moonlight. I loved this show! I think we should start an online petition. I don’t want to be in charge of it–but it ought to be pretty easy. Maybe http://www.petitionspot.com/start-a-petition/? Please somebody do this. Moonlight seems to have a very good following.

What about Swingtown? Finally something with an unusual storyline that isn’t crime based. It has great music, their wardrobe is so much fun to watch…. It started out kind of so so, but they’ve finally come into their own and it is so good. I’m really disappointed in CBS. All summer I looked forward to the season premier of Moonlight!

why! canceling Moonlight is a mistake

  • Cstyle43 said:

Cancelling Cane was a big mistake for CBS. That show was very good. Everytime I turn on the TV there is a new reality show. The only one I sometimes watch is Deal or No Deal. I refuse to spend my evenings watching reality shows. Thank God for HBO and its repeats!

  • John said:

moonlight, Cane, Swingtown, jerico were great shows had a good following.

  • John said:

I was scared they would not renew The Unit. But maybe, just maybe another show will pick up moonlight, Cane, Jerico, swingtown .

  • Shelli said:

I am thankful you decided to bring back the unit. It is the only sitcom that my husband will watch. We love it. I also agree with everyone about Moonlight BRING IT BACK HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND

  • Cindy said:

I absolutely loved Friday nights when Moonlight was on. I would get so excited waiting to see Mick all week. I am also tired of the reality tv shows. We get enough reality every day of the week. It is nice to think about other things for a while. Please bring Moonlight back. I have been waiting all summer for the Fall lineup just hoping it would be returning. I love the storyline and the romance. Hot show!!!

  • Vicki Walberg said:

I cannot believe you canceled Moonlight. I have suffered throughout this whole summer waiting for the fall lineup to see Moonlight, my favorite show. The story line and the pairing of your two main stars was so awesome. There is something very wrong with your exec’s, they should be fired for not realizing what a following you had, and that this show had real potential to be a long running hit. Please bring it back….or I am done with CBS. If you don’t bring it back, hopefully some other station will realize what a big hit it was and make us all happy.

  • Steve Walberg said:

I don’t understand the network canceling Moonlight. I am sure there are just as many men who enjoyed this show as women. The show was intriging, the chemistry between the characters was awesome. With all the dull boring shows we have to watch on tv these days it was nice to have something to look forward to. There is too much junk out there. All the stations seem to pick up on one or two ideas and satuate us with the same. Perhaps you need some new blood in the exec department when they aren’t able to see what really clicks with the audiences out there. From the looks of it you have alot of disappointed viewers. Not good for business I would say.

  • John said:

Bring back Moonlight. Please stations pick it up.

  • eydie said:

in reading all the other posts and my previous one here, i can’t get over how many mention “moonlight” specifically. cbs can’t possibly be so ignorant as to not know they made a mistake. it has to be clear. but, unfortunately, it’s too late. they murdered our show and now it’s dead forever. the best i can do is to forever boycot moonlight’s time slot. they could have jesus christ himself host a show explaining in detail the meaning of life and i would not watch. to give you some idea of my ability to hold a grudge, i haven’t watched A.I. since constantine got voted off. not much in the scheme of things, but it’s the best i can do now that my favorite show has been slaughtered. i sincerely hate nina tassler and les moonves.

  • Vicki Walberg said:

Can anyone out there tell me “why” Moonlight was canceled. Did CBS even show their audience the a reason for canceling it. Where is the loyalty. Obviously they could care less whether or not they keep their audiences happy. Why don’t they cancel some of their stupid boring crap like the Old Christine, Big Bang Theory and How I met your mother. I watched these show about three times and have not bothered since. I see nothing entertaining about them.

  • J Rios said:

HELLO, WHERE’S MOONLIGHT PEOPLE!!!!!! SERIOUSLY, I AGREE WITH OTHER VIEWERS, WHO CARES ABOUT THE EX LIST AND HOW LONG CAN THAT LAST!!! SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SHE FINDS HER MAN? HOW MANY HAS SHE BEEN WITH TO DO AN ENTIRE SERIES? IS CBS TURNING WOMEN INTO WHORES?! JUST BRING BACK MOONLIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cindy said:

CBS Friday night line up was good TV. Myself & a million other viewers looked forward to that night.

  • patricia said:

without moonlight and jerico the network is now no better than the others. there is not any good reason to watch this network over anything else

  • Janie said:

Thank heaven there is still CSI:Miami, NCIS and Big Bang theory, Monday and Tuesday, after that CBS might just as well shut down. They never should have let CANE be cancelled. Give CANE another chance!!! Executives should read all these e-mails and get their heads out of their ___

  • Tommy said:

WHERE IS SHARK??? AT LEAST THEY KEPT NUMBERS!!! THERE ARE SO MANY HORRIBLE SHOWS FOR BRAIN DEAD PEOPLE ON ALL THE NETWORKS ITS NICE WHEN A SHOW LIKE SHARK COMES ALONG FOR THE VIEWERS WITH A COLLEGE DEGREE…… SHARK NEEDS TO COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!

  • John said:

CBS must be losing money. Got tired honchos making bad decisions. They can’t charge money for advertising if no one is watching. Moonlight, Shark, jerico, Cane were great shows. Had a real following here in San Antonio Texas. Maybe TNT or some other outfit will pick them up. ABC should take a look.

  • Mack said:

Cane, moonlight, and Shark were great shows. CBS is stupid.

  • Brianna said:

I want Moonlight, Shark, and Cane back. They were good shows. Had a following.

  • TERRY said:

BRING CANE & JEIRCHO BACK AND I MIGHT WATCH CBS AGAIN, OTHER WISE AFTER 40 YEARS I’LL BE MAKING OTHER PLANS…..

SEE THE PATTERN CBS? GET THE POINT CBS??
WAKE UP AND HEAR YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!

  • TERRY said:

    JERICHO* sorry :o )~

  • Bertha Byrd said:

I have always cbs, unless I am watching Law and Order. On nbc,abc sucks.I like others unable to get out. So T.V.is big for me. Love to watch one show on cbs and record off of another stations. I to don’t understand what happen to Shark LOVED it. And Moonlight,of couse I love drama. Shark, Numbers, All of the CSI’s NCIS,Cramial Minds. AS for Old Christine,IT SUCKS. My husband like Big Bang for laugh. Give real people shot good T.V. someone out just don’t get it. Like the other viewer said reality shows suck. Try living so time.

  • Cheryl said:

I am so disappointed that Shark was cancelled. It was one of my favorites and I looked forward to it coming back this fall season. But of course it was cancelled like another of my very favorites Cain. It sure seems like there are enough people that enjoy these shows that it makes no sense to get rid of them. Shark had class and so did Cain. One thing I can count on is that CBS will cancel at least one of my favorites every season. When the CSI’s are ended there won’t be much worth watching at all. Too bad for CBS!

  • JoAnn H said:

I cannot believe you cancelled a show like Moonlight. Finally something that’s not the same tired Reality show or one of the not so funny sitcoms.
When is CBS going to get a clue that there are some people out here who enjoy a good well written show that’s not just filled with slapstick and innuendo.

  • s smith said:

Why would CBS cancel great shows like Shark and Moonlight? I am a female and most certainly don’t need CBS to choose what I like to watch based on gender. Big mistake CBS

  • A. Goodwin said:

The only reason you would cancel Moonlight and Shark?…The main characters must have died in “real life”, because nobody would have been stupid enough to cancel them for any other reason.

  • Shae said:

I loved Fridays line up, Moonlight killed it. No more jerico, no more shark. Please ABC pick it up behind Greys anatomy. Moon light was my favorite.

  • Page and Rooster said:

I sure miss moonlight. CBS might as well cancel the news.

  • Jenni said:

I looked forward to Friday nights, until now anyway glad to see Ghost Whisper returning but SO disapointed to see that Moonlight didn’t make it back. I really hope it can get picked up by another network, cause it was the best vamp show yet.

  • Sharon said:

I agree with you all Moonlight was great and sad to see it cancelled. There is a show on HBO about vamp for you supernatural fans also sanctuary on SciFi looks promising. Than there is fringe on FOX. It makes you wonder every channel (including the WB’s supernatural) have some type of supernatural show but CBS cancels Moonlight, someone there is not the bightest bulb. If everyone else is going with something doesnt that tell you something (like viwers like it, perhaps). I am not watching any CBS shows except Ghost Whispers the rest stink.

  • Cherie said:

I sure miss Moonlight. I will be watching HBO on Friday nights I guess.

  • Little John said:

Moonlight, The Unit, and Cane. They were some super shows. At least the Unit made it back.

  • Becky and Renee said:

Bring back MOONLIGHT! BRING BACK MOONLIGHT! WE WANT MOONLIGHT!

  • Page and Rooster said:

Can somebody else out there write CBS and maybe some of their advertisers ,and try to get Moonlight back?

  • Bluemoon said:

I, like so many here, am disappointed that Moonlight will not be in the CBS fall lineup. It was the perfect show to follow Ghost Whisperer.

The People’s Choice Award should have at least been worth one more season for the network to pick it up again.

Regarding the replacement show the “Ex List”, as a woman I find the very premise of the show insulting and can honestly say that I will not be in the viewing audience, even though I represent the demographic you are trying so desperately to capture.

I too believe that there are too many reality shows on the airwaves these days. One wants to watch TV to escape reality for a while, to be entertained and unwind for a bit.

I hope that Moonlight will resurface this fall, if not on CBS, then on a network that has more vision and the capacity to care what we, the viewers, want to watch.

  • Lorraine said:

I am really disappointed in CBS, you put a show on and get us all hooked then you drop it. I have been waiting all summer for the fall lineup and no Dexter. You keep shows on like without a trace that has ran its coarse and needs to be retired. If it is because kids might get the wrong idea, then their parents need to be better parents and send them to bed. Take the TV’s out of their bedrooms because that is a room to sleep in not watch tv. Bring back Dexter season 2.

  • GINA said:

HEY CBS, ARE U SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER?? I DON’T THINK SO!!! LOOKS LIKE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE AGREE THAT CANCELING MOONLIGHT FOR THE “EX-LIST” IS THE WRONG CHOICE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND DO THEIR HOMEWORK. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FALL LINE-UP, YOUR GOING TO NEED IT…I WONT BE RETURNING EITHER.

  • Pam said:

PLEASE bring back Moonlight & Shark. My husband & I look forward to watching these shows. PLEASE :)

  • Tanya said:

Ditto!!!! Moonlight was the best! You don’t fix what’s not broken. The stupidest, most unbelievably ridiculous decision ever! I’ve been looking forward to Moonlight all summer-with Ghost Whisperer-perfect! What a let down; VERY disappointing. Someone should be fired!

  • Diane said:

Who on earth is responsible for replacing Moonlight! For the first time in YEARS, we look forward to Friday night TV. I am stunned that someone actually thought it was a good idea to take a phenomenol show off the air and replace it with a ‘lightweight’ show starring a ‘lightweight’ actress…she was/is one the only unappealing character on Grey’s…now here she is again…please make her go away. Here we go again…you score a great show, an engaging cast, a compelling storyline that adults can actually enjoy…and YOU ’stick’ us with more immature, low-level drivel. BRING BACK MOONLIGHT and FIRE THE MORONS WHO TOOK IT OFF. CBS is off my list (not that you care) until you bring it back.

  • Beverly said:

Who was stupid enough to cancel moonlight and cane? some body has a need to not succed.

  • Beverly's Husband Al said:

Please bring back Moonlight. This woman is driving me crazy. Please!

  • Melisssa said:

I am very sorry to see that Moonlight was not on the lineup. Guess I will be watching another station on Friday nights because NOT ONE THING looks half way worth watching. Wrong Move guys! Need to rethink cancelation of a REALLY GOOD SHOW. If you don’t have your fans watching, then who is?

  • jeff said:

Who can I write to bring back Moonlight?

  • MARGE said:

I WORK ALL OF THE TIME AND THE ONLY TIME I ACTUALLY SET ASIDE FOR MYSELF THROUGH THE WEEK WAS FRIDAY NIGHTS FOR MOONLIGHT, MYSELF AND ALL OF MY FRIENDS WOULD GET TOGETHER AND WATCH IT EVERY WEEK. COMMENT #22 TRULY SAYS IT ALL.
ITS SO HARD TO LET GO OF SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE ENJOYED SO VERY MUCH.
I THINK WE ALL WHOM ENJOYED THIS SERIES FEEL

  • Tina said:

I also am upset about the removal of Moonlight. But, I am still a big fan of Survivor. Last years Friday lineup was the best and my dvr was always set. Now, I’m going to have to find another 9:00 show to watch. I’m not in to the girly girl shows like the ex list sounds to be. I like the crime and Vampire shows. Please bring back Mick!!!!!

  • Tiffany said:

Moonlight is the best show ever!!!! CBS is so stupid! Why would you cancel Moonlight but keep survivor on the air? How many seasons can you do the desert island thing? That show was on when I was in high school and I am now 26 and it sucks just as much now as it did then. Moonlight deserves another shot, we miss Mick!! We female viewers like watching strong sexy guys way more than dumb girls and their ex boyfriends.

  • Deborah said:

I don’t see the show Flashpoint on your fall line up. Will it come back anytime soon? Love the show and hope to see it again. Will it come out on DVD first Season?

  • Deborah said:

I don’t see the show Flashpoint on your fall line up. When will it come back? Love the show.

  • Beverly said:

Flashpoint is just OK. Another police show. Moonlight was real differen’t. And I am worn out on survivors and ex’es and living on an island. Its enough already, please some one else pick up Moonlight.

  • Ray said:

I refuse to watch any new show on CBS from here on out period!!!! When they finally get a great show that we as viewers love they cancel it. Really pissed me off when they cancelled Moonlight!!!!!! That show was different, original, unique. I LOVED IT!!!!!!! CBS didn’t even bring closure to the show!!!

  • Forrest Weekley said:

Please bring back Jericho and Moonlight. These are two very high quality shows. But PLEASE dump ALL of the so-called reality shows and leave these time slots for regular high quality entertainment.

  • KIM said:

    Bring back Shark and Dexter!
    We loved Shark.
Big disappiontment that it is leaving. The only thing that will keep me coming back to CBS is CSI on Thursday nights and Ghost Whisperer on Fridays.

  • Donna Meredith said:

Comcast has taken Martha off here in Bloomington, and my friends and I are really dissapointed. Don’t know if there is anything you can do,but would appriecate a look….

  • Marie L. said:

I am just finding out the Moonlight was cancelled???? WHATTTT? I totally agree with ya’ll. Friday Nights were great with Whisperer and Moonlight together. Maybe put The Mentalist on after would be a great Friday lineup!!!! What say YOU CBS???

  • Valerie said:

I just noted that CBS cancelled Moonlight. This is a huge disappointment. I enjoy Ghost Whisperer and Numbers, but linking the two with Ex-List? CBS will most likely loose their Friday night viewers (perhaps after Ghost Whisperer they will switch to something else loosing “Numbers” viewers. Big mistake CBS! What are you thinking?!

  • Greg said:

I’m with the majority on most of the postings. Shark? Moonlight? Womens Murder Club? Jericho? All gone? For more not funny sit-coms and non-reality shows. You lost another viewer!! I believe most of your viewers could do a much better job with your scheduling.

  • TERRY said:

WHAT MORONS ARE IN CHARGE OF THESE NETWORKS?::
ABC: Men in Trees, Women’s Murder Club, October Road, Miss Guided, Carpoolers
CBS: Moonlight, Shark, Jericho, Welcome to the Captain
FOX: Back to You, Canterbury’s Law, New Amsterdam, Unhitched
NBC: Journeyman, Las Vegas, Scrubs (but that was picked up by ABC)
The CW: Aliens in America, Girlfriends, WWE Smackdown (but that was picked up by MyNetworkTV)

NO WONDER CABLE LOOKS BETTER AND BETTER TO MOST FOLKS

  • Lisa said:

Cancel Moonlight and jerico, then Cane. Is CBS crazy or what? At least HBO came up with a vampire show. True Blood its already a hit. Cabel is getting better and better. HBO and Showtime keeping up. yep, keeping up.

  • Tammy said:

Put Moonlight, Shark and Cane back on. I have no interest in the ex list. CBS has really flubbed up the lineup this year.

  • Becca said:

I came to this site to see the fall lineup. Boy what a mess. I whole heartedly agree with all who object to CBS dropping Moonlight, Shark and shortening Rules of Engagement. CBS execs are sort of like the Government they want our money but don’t want to listen to what we want or have to say.

    BRING back our shows PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • DaGuy said:

Last year’s monday night comedies were the best. big bang, how I met your mother, 2.5 men, and rules of engagement are all keepers. the new show ‘worst week’ is the worst show ever. bring back rules of engagement dummies!!! mentalist is pretty good. CSI (original, not lame miami or ny) is a must-see. why wait til mid-october? argh!

  • norma dodd said:

i have watched all summer hoping too get a glance of moonlight and shark to come back this fall but i see this is not happening…please someone with a little authoritie take a chance and pull them out of the bag because obviously this is how you choice the new shows this season ! BE BRAVE GO OVER YOUR UNCLES HEAD LOL

  • Shelly said:

I can’t understand why you would cancel a show that was amazing, fun, sexy, and just to great. Bring back MOONLIGHT. I refuse to watch the EX list. I will make sure that no one in my house will have that show on. That time belongs to MOONLIGHT. Bring back MOONLIGHT.

  • Mack said:

I am so glad we have HBO, I watch re runs of true blood on Friday nights. CBS is a fool.

  • Kristine said:

What a disappointment that Moonlight is cancelled. I’m with everyone’s comments that the wrong shows were kept and the new shows, well, pique no interest with me. I hope USA picks up Moonlight. They often take shows and give them the chance to get VERY popular! They did it with MONK, they did it with Silk Stalkings (years ago). Law and Order… I am not sure though, I think those shows were on NBC and I think NBC owns USA, so who knows if the can get Moonlight. I hope so. I’m done with CBS. What’s the point when they cancel the good stuff (The Guardian). Now, I like Simon Baker, who was in The Guardian, but the Mentalist—its just not keeping my interest… its like MONK, without the disfunction… there is no hook that’s grabbing me…

  • Kristine said:

IDEA: Everyone should write the USA Netork and suggest they pick up Moonlight!!!

****CBS Cancelled MOONLIGHT. It was a good show. If you check fan forums and message boards, you will see there are a LOT of disappointed people!!! Please foward this to someone who might be able to look into pick up the serious and making new ones to show on USA. I watch a lot of USA… You gave MONK a chance and look at it now!!! Keep up the good work and think of adding MOONLIGHT!!! **** Send notes!!!
