Just saw the first Million Dollar Password. They had a few “illegal clues” in the first round. Regis Philbin seems to think everyone knows hyphenated words can’t be clues, but it’s been years since Password was on TV. That’s almost like assuming everyone knows Aristophanes wrote The Birds (a pop culture reference that may be only slightly more familiar than the Password rules). Couldn’t the producers have taken the time to make everyone familiar with the rules?

I have to wonder if the person who wrote this article realized that “Aristophanes” was used as a clue for “Birds” in the “Password” segment of “The Odd Couple”. (You can guess who gave THAT clue….Felix!)

I was waiting to see if someone picked up on that one. Thank you.

I was wondering how they used “boyfriend” as the password for “girlfriend” (or vice versa) in the first show.
Was that a legal clue? With that much a part the same of each word?
