TV Verdict

Set your DVR to ABC on Tuesday, November 3 at 8:00 – The Visitors Are Coming.

V, the remake of the 1980’s scifi series, is a real grabber and you’ll want to catch it from the start. Though you may not know the names of the cast members, you’ll recognize their faces if you’re a TV fan. The best of the bunch is Morena Baccarin from Firefly who absolutly sizzles as the leader of the invasion force. She has that sweet, innocent exterior and the ability to give you the chills when she presses that smile just a little bit harder.

Elizabeth Mitchell also sells it well and I even like Scott Wolfe. For classic scifi fans, check out the man in the wheelchair who gets healed by the visitors. That’s Stefan Arngrim, who played young Barry on Irwin Allen’s Land of the Giants. He also recently appeared as the antique shop owner on Fringe.

I’m hoping ABC is going to give this series the chance it deserves. Right now they’re going with an unhelpful split season – 4 episodes now and the rest to air after the holidays, I believe. That’s quite a gap. I hope they aren’t setting the show up for failure. A scifi remake on a major network – it already has two strikes against it.
