Conan signs on at TBS

When it became clear that Fox affiliates nationwide were more interested in running reruns of Seinfeld and The Simpsons, Conan O’Brien’s negotiating team gave the network an “all or nothing” ultimatum. They faltered and TBS now has itself another weekday late night talk show host. Starting this November, Conan gets the jump on both Jay and Dave with his new 11p ET/10p CT show, followed by the already established Lopez Tonight at 12p ET/11p CT.

Conan O’Brien: “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.”

George Lopez: “It’s the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy.”
