It’s Employment: Impossible for Robert Irvine as Food Network has officially given the chef the heave-ho. The Dinner: Impossible host was caught by the St. Petersberg Times basting his résumé with a humbug reduction and heating over an open flame. Among other things, he’s never cooked for the president or the Royal Family, doesn’t have a knighthood, and his B.S. from the University of Leeds is, well, BS.
It’s not like the network could have suspected this sort of dishonesty from their talent– y’know, except for that incident last July, when Josh Garcia had to resign from The Next Food Network Star finale for doing the exact same thing. You’d think the channel would have someone on staff to prevent these situations from happening by now (or maybe they do and they’re just super busy trying to ‘verify the authenticity’ of Giada DeLaurentis’ cleavage).
All I can say is that I can’t wait for the inevitable Anthony Bourdain blog entry. Don’t leave me hanging, Tony.
