The winter TV season has begun (thank heavens) and ABC and NBC are coming out of the gate with a packed night.
ABC has The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love. The guy’s a pilot, so. . wings. . .get it? He’ll have a 2-hour season premiere with former Bachelorette Jillian Harris and her beau helping [...]

I buy a lot of TV shows on DVD. A lot. But there are only a few shows where I buy every season or a complete series set. Sometimes, it’s not my fault. Studios are constantly stopping production on DVD sets in the middle of a show’s run. Look at Simon & Simon! That was [...]

There’s a specific formula for presenting news, even if it’s entertainment news. Traditionally, the only difference between entertainment news and regular news was that the anchors don’t sit behind a desk to read the prompter. Some news anchors still shuffle note cards or papers along with reading from the prompter mounted above the cameras. There’s [...]

If you were to switch on The CW on Tuesday nights, you might think that you skipped a channel and landed on a cable station that thrives on old reruns. It wasn’t enough that the netlet was airing back-to-back remakes of 90210 and Melrose Place, but now even the casting looks familiar.
Last week, Heather Locklear [...]

It’s been a brutal week for TV producers, as studios began slashing orders and canceling shows left and right.
The biggest buzz but the least unexpected was the cancelation of Dollhouse. Based on the ratings, this series never should have been given a second season, but Fox bowed to the fans, put it on and it [...]

A couple of months into the new season, and I’ve come to two important conclusions:
1. I’m not at all impressed with NCIS: Los Angeles.
2. I miss Chuck.
Let’s start with the first one. I like the original NCIS a lot, primarily because of the characters. Unlike other procedurals, NCIS is character-driven, and NCIS:LA is sorely lacking [...]

This remake of the 1980’s sci-fi series, is a real grabber and you’ll want to catch it from the start.

How’s that for a mixed bag! I’ve been stage managing a musical and so my DVR is overflowing with goodies to watch. Here’s what made the cut last night.
I started with a fast forward through Dancing with the Stars in order to get to the important stuff – there wasn’t much. Usually there’s a great [...]

The future of TV entertainment isn’t about channel surfing in the traditional sense. We’ll be surfing to shows or grabbing them from some version of on demand or from DVR’s. The future is now if you look around. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog won an Emmy! The most successful TV 2.0 project has to be Sanctuary. [...]

It may sound like an odd, but I’m excited by the fact that I’ll be seeing both Leonard Nimoy and Paris Hilton guesting on two of my favorite TV shows tonight.
Leonard will be back in the role of William Bell on tonight’s episode of Fringe. Seems Olivia’s having a hard time sticking to one version [...]
